We are planning to have two wave starts for the half marathon in 2022 to prevent congestion at the stile after 3.5miles and to maintain social distancing before the start: The route then returns running west for 4 miles on the South Downs Way back through QE Park to the finish. Starting at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield the half marathon follows a route through the Country Park then across fields to the Village of Chalton before picking up the Sussex Border Path, bringing you to the South Downs Way. They were a great success and they will be returning in 2023 with a Canicross wave starting before the main races and a separate Canicross prize list. In 2022 we introduced Canicross waves for the first time. They both start and finish at QE Country Park and run out to join the South Downs Way on a network of Bridle Paths through beautiful downland and forested countryside. The South Downs Trail Half Marathon and accompanying 10K are two of the classic trail runs in the South of England.
